My favorite Christmas tradition is the Yule Goat from the Swedish town of Gavle, the Gävlebocken. The giant straw goat is built every year, and every year we wait with anticipation to see if it gets destroyed. It's been destroyed 37 times since 1966, the most recent was Dec 17th, 2021 when it was set on fire. Check out its wikipedia entry, it's kind of a trip. My personal favorite entry was in 2005 when, "unknown vandals reportedly dressed as Santa and the gingerbread man, by shooting a flaming arrow at the goat."
