The appropriately named Wizards team chose blue as their team color because to them blue represented astral energy currents, and astral energy is really cool.
Their opponents added an extra Z to their name, added an obscenely bright color to their wardrobe and thought they were just so much better than the original Wizards, but their magic was all flash and color.
