Winter Leaf

There are millions of residents who live in fear of the winter rolling in, residents with veins that lie close to the surface of their brittle skin who are hanging on to the branch that gives them life by a thread.

These leafy residents fear the day they’re cast off the branch and left to float away into nothingness, eventually falling to the ground to be trampled upon by walkers.

Their skin turns sheet white when they discover that winter is here, and as the rumors rustle through the branches and stir them into action the leaves know their time has finally come…
