My wife was in labor for 17 hours when the doctor walked in and said, "Ok, we're doing a c-section." We hadn't prepared for it, so the news was a bit of a shock to us. My son was born healthy almost 2 years ago. My wife did awesome and recovered great. Afterwards I would jokingly call our son a Xenomorph. He was a typical male, lost and wouldn't ask for directions. Chestbuster came out the tummy instead!
Joking aside, I'm thankful for modern medicine. If I was born in a different time, I know I would have lost my wife and possibly my son that day. It's interesting the things sometimes taken for granted.
